The newsletter is winding down, but the dancing never stops.

On July 1st, 2024, I launched the Dance Des Moines newsletter to help people find all the places to dance in and around Des Moines. What followed was a wild ride partnerships with groups across the city, the launch of this website, and a wonderful one-year anniversary dance.

All good things must come to an end. As of June 29th, 2026, the newsletter has sent its last edition. This website will stay up, with links to all the main groups in town, through May 21st, 2027.

Lake Robbins is something special. It's one of the few places left where you can dance to a real live big band on a Sunday. They also host country western bands on Saturdays, the ISU Line Dancing Club during the school year, and other live music events throughout the year. A genuine piece of Des Moines dance history.
